I got that head huters cut at 45. It is amazing.

I got a Fluance rt85 with a 2M Bronze running into a Yamaha R-N1000A with an SVS Evolution Bookshelfs and a PB2000. It is everything i need or want.

Recharging is nice yes but why would a company make a new walkman device, that has no support for Batteries and is generally hard to repair. If the belt snaps or the Battery dies after a few years, thats it. You sit on a 150 € expensive piece of junk. They should rework this device. Make a plastic version of it with no Bluetooth, with replaceable batteries, easy to repair for 79-99€ and that would be it. As of right now this is just fancy Hipster Stuff that has no real use. Although i admire their passion bringing the Tape back. On the other hand including a pencil to rewind tapes that doesn't even fit/work tells you all you need to know really... not including a case, no wallplug, and no headphones also tells a lot about this. So no thanks We are Rewind I'm not buying this as long as you have shady business practices like this.

Guido, this was an absolutely brilliant interview with Kevin. You asked so many great questions that I’m sure he’s never heard before. You had a fresh take on things, and that’s very much appreciated. Haha! 🤣 Great to hear Kevin talk about that particular person (Anyone who’s been involved with records / HiFi / etc., even for a few years knows exactly who he’s referring to) who sells standard pressings of records he’s “personally selected”. Once someone starts talking sh*t about an amazing engineer like Kevin is obviously threatened by his fantastic work.

More of the "esoteric" cable bollsh!t. I dare everyone to build speaker cables using Canare 4S11G Star Quad cable (at $2.05 per foot) and some quality terminal ends, properly connected. A pair of 10 foot long cables will cost you about $70. Perform an honest "ABX" double-blind listening test between the Canare cables and any of these ridiculously expensive cables, and tell me: 1). Can you hear a difference at all? 2). Which ones sound "better", and if they do, is it a large or small difference? 3). When the cable identities are revealed, which ones sounded better to you? Was it the expensive cables? Do your ears, and wallet, a favor, and hear just how good $70 speaker cables can sound. 😄✌️

What a dire disappointment about a channel I’ve been following for years.

Steely Dan’s “Groucho”, love the album, but I’ve always thought the sonics of that album are lacking when compared to their other albums. I’ve always wondered why? What are your thoughts?

For budget minded vintange tape deck hunters, I recommend the Nakamichi BX-150 and the NAD 6100. They sound WAY better than their price would suggest.

Sorry guys but I found the master muddier, compare to the cassette for instance. A lot more clarity there.

The best reason to spend the money for decent cables isn't about how they "sound." It's about durability, corrosion resistance, and connection security. The give-away cables we get boxed with consumer hi-fi gear are often pretty bad in durability and connection terms, but they rarely corrode (at least visibly) and they carry the signal. In short, they work until they stop working, and if they get manipulated a lot, they tend to stop working. I buy a variety of oxygen-free copper RCA interconnects in the $30-50 range for my primary system with, for me, expensive components. For everything else, a step up from in-the-box is good enough. For basic use, I build my own speakers cables using oxygen-free 16 or 14-ga single element primary wire, a black one and a red one, running together through a braided polyethylene sleeve. It's inexpensive, durable, and perfectly workable.

Thank you Guido for this revealing interview with the great Kevin Gray. I love his masterings! Your interview and thoughtful questions took much of the mystery out of the mastering process and the many components that surround it.

What I like about Shindo is the build quality and layout which makes them easy to repair, yes they break sometimes but I only do that for my closest friends I have my own projects to build. Don't get me wrong I like Shindo because they sound good, personally I like what the Japanese do with valves because they don't seem to listen to people who say "it can't be done like this" the japanese put music reproduction first and not how the modern rendering dictates how it should sound.

NFL is excellent for me as I live in an apartment. I also run 2 x elevated 8 inch subs which gives me an amazing listening experience 🤩

Insulation can be a problem. Air has a low dielectric value. Some materials are high to very high value. So the problem now becomes very obvious.

Hi Great explanation but I'm still confused. I plan on hooking up my Yamaha blue ray player (24/ 192 DAC) to my Yamaha av receiver via HDMI. The receiver has built in DAC ( all channels) 24/192. Would I still need one of these HDMI -I2S converter in the signal path? I'm only interested in audio only SACD from the blue ray player, ie 2 channel Thanks
